The Project
The Challenge
Intake gates and exclusion gates are designed for extreme load conditions. The sheaves can withstand normal continuous loads of 18,200 pounds, with an exceptional one time shock load of 96,000 pounds.
The Upper sheave blocks must operate in 100% humidity and are loaded continuously as the gates are suspended.
Lower sheave blocks are submerged below the water’s surface and are exposed to a marine environment. Lower sheave blocks are loaded continuously as the gates are suspended.
